This is one of my favorite projects of all time! Even if the filming of this project was the demise of two video cameras! But there is a video!
The background is made with Distress Stains, and then a layer of tacky glue and microfine glitter is stamped on top, giving it some serious bling! Don’t worry too much about getting the Distress Stain part of it perfect…once the glitter goes on with the rest of the finishing touches, it all blends into a beautiful piece of art. Trust me! The finishing touch is a couple of Silhouette cuts and some black glitter for a more subtle sparkle, as well as a text stamp.
In fact, I have made this project with several Art Therapy class groups, and each and every one comes out gorgeous.
Also, you could skip the tag and just make a card using these techniques. Keep the type of cardstock you use in mind…use something with a little bit of a smooth and water resistant surface. (The cheap Georgia Pacific brand cardstock from Walmart is perfect, while the textured and super absorbent AC cardstock will have you pulling your hair out!) Or make the tag and glue it to a cardstock base…a 6.5″ by 6.5″ paper folded in half works out perfect. This is the card I made for one of my beautiful sisters:
